Delete your Mishkat Communications account

Mishkat Communications app, provided by Alvazarat Saifiyah

You can ask us to delete your Mishkat Communications account and the personal data linked to it at any time. You do not need to give a reason.

In the app

1. Open the Mishkat Communications app and sign in.
2. Go to the Profile tab → Account & privacy → Delete my account.
3. Read what is deleted and what is kept, then tap Request deletion. We complete it within 30 days. Until then you can withdraw the request from the same screen.

By email

If you can no longer sign in, or prefer email:

1. Send an email to socialmedia@alvazarat.org with the subject “Delete my Mishkat Communications account”.
2. Include your ITS ID and full name. Send it from the email address registered with your ITS account if you can; otherwise we may ask you to confirm your identity before we act.

3. We confirm we have received your request within 7 days, and complete the deletion within 30 days. We email you when it is done.
4. Optionally, delete the app from your phone. This removes the messages and media stored on your device. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account.

What happens to your data

Deleted

• Your profile details: email address, mobile number, gender, age, marital status, spouse details, nationality, vatan, Quran sanad, jamaat and jamiat, and organisational department or role.
• Your name on your messages, which is replaced with “Former member”.
• Your memberships of all groups, your roles and your group settings.
• Your push notification tokens, read status and app usage history.
• Your sign-in sessions; you are signed out on every device.

Kept

• Messages, comments, photos, videos and files you sent to groups stay in those groups, shown as from “Former member”, so that other members’ conversations remain intact. If you want a specific message removed as well, say so in your request, or delete it in the app before you ask.
• Your ITS ID in administrators’ audit and security records, kept indefinitely, so that we can show which actions were taken on the service and by whom.
• Support tickets and message reports you submitted, kept with your name removed.
• Database backups, which roll over and no longer contain your data after 1 day.
• Anything we are required by law to keep, for as long as the law requires.

Signing in again

Your account is created from your ITS record. If you sign in to the app again after your account has been deleted, a new account is created from your ITS details. Please do not sign in again if you want to stay deleted.
