Mishkat Communications app · Last updated: 13 October 2026
This policy explains what information the Mishkat Communications app (“the app”) collects, why, and what choices you have. The app is provided by Alvazarat Saifiyah, Badri Mahal, Dr D N Road, Fort, Mumbai 400001, Maharashtra, India (“we”, “us”).
1. Who can use the app
The app is for members of our community. You sign in with your ITS account through ITS OneLogin. There is no sign-up inside the app. We do not sell the app and there is no advertising in it.

3. How we use information
We use the information above only to run the app: to sign you in, deliver and display messages, send notifications, apply group permissions and approvals, provide support, moderate content, and keep the service secure. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
4. Who can see your information
- Members of your groups see your name and what you send to those groups. In broadcast groups, followers see posts and comments.
- Group and organisation administrators can see membership and your ITS profile details, approve or remove messages, and receive reports and support tickets about their groups.
- Service providers that run parts of the service for us, under contract and only on our instructions: Amazon Web Services (servers and database, India), Cloudflare (media storage and delivery), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service (notifications), and Sentry (crash and performance diagnostics).
- Authorities, where the law requires us to disclose information.
Images in chats display a faint watermark with the viewer’s ITS ID, to discourage sharing outside the group.
5. Storage and retention
Our servers and database are in India (Amazon Web Services, Mumbai). Photos, videos and files are stored and delivered by Cloudflare, which may hold copies outside India. The app also keeps recent messages and downloaded media on your device so it works offline; stored messages are removed when you sign out, and downloaded media when you delete the app or your device clears its cache.
We keep your account for as long as you are a member. Messages and media are kept for as long as the group they were sent to exists. Support tickets and administrators’ audit records are kept indefinitely. If you ask us to delete your account, see Deleting your account for what is removed and what is kept.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens are stored in your device’s secure storage. Media links are time-limited. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it, by writing to socialmedia@alvazarat.org. To delete your account, follow the steps on Deleting your account. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have these rights under the GDPR, and you may complain to your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest in providing a communication service to our members.
8. Children
The app is rated 13+. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through the app.
9. Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
